Why I’m Voting For McCain

October 25th, 2008

Right now we have two very different platforms. On economics? On Healthcare? On education?

How about going back to basics, to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. Or how about just starting with “Life”.

Obama is, on the one hand, the most radical pro-abortion candidate our nation has ever seen. He has promised to pass the FOCA as soon as he gets into office. This will remove the protections that have been entered into law for the unborn, since before the act.

Why exactly does he want to remove the little protections that still exist for unborn babies?

Great question …

Plus, his voting record is starkly cold. Every time he had a chance to protect any kind of rights for the unborn (I mean rights that DIRECTLY apply to the unborn … not for the ones who do manage to be wanted at birth) he has failed to provide any protection at all. He doesn’t even want to provide healthcare to babies that survive an abortion. Those babies just get put onto a table to die slowly. Nice touch.

OK, let’s get real. In a country that boasts the greatest level of wealth and technology in the world, we are failing miserably in this one thing, that’s so foundational. It’s about LIFE.

Watch this video created by Eduardo Verastegui, the mexican actor who was also the star actor in the movie Bella: DuraRealidad.com

On the other hand, McCain/Palin is the most pro-life platform ever to hit the national election stage. For me, it’s not a hard choice. I mean lets put LIFE on one side of the scale and THE ECONOMY on the other. No contest.

Does that mean we ignore the other issues?

No, of course not, they are also important.

But if we elect Obama, we are going to see a big increase in the biggest holocaust the world has ever seen. 40,000,000 babies aborted since 1970. Yes, 40 MILLION.

Come on, vote for what REALLY counts.

MotherTheme “car repair” sale … (loud snap story)

October 3rd, 2008

Loud snapping sounds are not usually good news when are driving.

But that’s what I heard on Tuesday when I was in the middle of traffic.

I moved the shift lever around and it was loose. I frantically tried to find a gear that I could use. I found third. It starts slow and goes up to about 55. The highway I use has a max speed of 75, so 55 isn’t enough for me :)

So I found my way to the car repair shop.

It turns out that I have a broken shifter cable, and this is what I was quoted:

parts: $407
labor: $250

SO …

Let my bad news be your gain!

So starting NOW …

I’ll be letting all buyers of MotherTheme get 50% off, by using a discount code in the shopping cart.

The code is: “car”

The sale runs through next Monday.

I recommend getting one of the reseller licenses, which allow you to turn around and resell MotherTheme and keep 100% of the profits.

But you can also try the much cheaper, personal/developer license, the discount works will everything.

I’m hoping you will lighten the load a little :)

Also, for every sale I make of MotherTheme I give 5% to a charity in Denver that provides money, jobs and other help to single moms. I don’t know about you but I have a special place in my heart for single moms, my mother is one of them.

Get it here.

New Diminutive Design For MotherTheme Homepage

September 30th, 2008

… as well as the blog (this page) and forum. The forum now runs on phpBB instead of SMF. The reason for that was simplicity. phpBB is just more simple and I like how it looks.

Why the redesign? The old site included reference to SKINS everywhere and the new MotherTheme is skinless since the new versions of Wordpress have support for parent/child themes.

Plus, I changed the license terms, and every license is a developer license.

PLUS, now the forum is open to all, members or non-members. So go ahead and purchase MotherTheme, but either way, feel free to stop by in the forum and say hello.

AND, I’m going to be committing to posting more often on the blog. I promise!

Welcome to the official release of MotherTheme!

August 2nd, 2008

I’m excited to present you with the new and improved MotherTheme, and I want to talk a bit about the plans for development.

NOTE: Skins are no longer a part of MotherTheme since the new version of WordPress supports parent/child themes.

First, the changes to MotherTheme are the addition of a couple skins that will change your site into a magazine, newspaper site, or media site. It seems most people are interested in those kinds of websites, and I’m sure you are no different. However, if you are different, and need something else, then let me know and I will add your request to the skins list.

A different skin is easy to install and does not Read the rest of this entry »
