Now skin changes are easier than ever with the new dashboard thanks to some help from my friend Michael at CatsWhoCode.com! The dashboard shows the current skin and a button under each available skin in the
mothertheme-skins
folder.
This is just one more way MotherTheme makes it easy for you to change the look of your blog without messing with everything else. Here’s what stays the same when you change your skin:

THINGS THAT DON'T CHANGE WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR SKIN
Anything that says .php on the end:
header.php, index.php, sidebar.php, footer.php, etc. etc.
Nothing changes here!
SO, Plugins, add-ons, widgets, banners, ads, ALL STAY THE SAME!
Also the style.css file does not change, nor anything in the themes/mothertheme/images folder

So now you are probably wondering, what DOES change when you change your skin?

THINGS THAT DO CHANGE WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR SKIN
skin.css file
mothertheme-skins/(skin name)/images folder changes
SO, these things are what change the LOOK and feel of your blog, but nothing else. So you don't totally break your blog by mistake!

Got it?

Good! Head over and get yourself a copy of MotherTheme today!

If you have a blog and have tried to change your theme then you will know exactly what I am talking about. If you are new to the scene then consider yourself warned …

Changing your WordPress theme is usually a huge deal! You have to “fix” everything afterwards, you have to worry about losing something, a folder, a link, an image, or multiple things. MotherTheme is designed to help you avoid that mess, whether for your own blog, or for your clients.

How It Works

MotherTheme comes with three different skins that change certain elements such as colors, graphics and even position of elements if you like. They don’t mess with your PHP code at all, and if you make any changes to your theme files (header, footer, etc.) a skin change leaves them alone.

What This Means For You

With your site files remaining intact, you can feel more free to make changes that you want to make without having to worry about sometime in the future when you might want to change your theme. Instead of getting a new theme, just get a skin that you like and install that inside MotherTheme. You get the changes you want to your design without having to give up your blog!

There are three license options, one for a personal user, one for a personal user with multiple sites, and a developer license for web designers.

If you want to get started designing websites for others using MotherTheme as your base, get the developer license of MotherTheme today and visit the forum often. I’ll be right there to help you as you get started using MotherTheme!

If you want a personal license, then you also will have full access to the member forum. Sign up for a single site license or a multi site license today.

I’m excited to present you with the new and improved MotherTheme, and I want to talk a bit about the plans for development.

First, the changes to MotherTheme are the addition of a couple skins that will change your site into a magazine, newspaper site, or media site. It seems most people are interested in those kinds of websites, and I’m sure you are no different. However, if you are different, and need something else, then let me know and I will add your request to the skins list.

A different skin is easy to install and does not rupture the custom work you have done to your site, as long as you have MotherTheme.

If you DON’T have MotherTheme, then get it as soon as you can. Start customizing your site and enjoy an occasional change to the look of your website without massive breakage in your features and content.

The work I’m planning on MotherTheme is simply to make it simpler. Easier to change skins, easier to customize skins, etc.

I’m also looking around for the top plugins to partner with or recommend to you as you upgrade your blog.

Well, that’s all I got for you now, but if there is one thing I have to say, it’s get MotherTheme as soon as you can.
